Training Program

As part of the CAGLIARI 2020 training project, managed in collaboration with the University of Cagliari and CRS4, calls will be made to select students who are enrolled in the master’s degree or who intend to enroll, for a course that includes the following activities:

  1. Seminars and theoretical courses.
  2. Training experience in support of personnel engaged in research activities at the INFN or i Project partner.
  3. Learning of knowledge in programming, strategic management and organization operational for industrial research and pre-competitive development projects.

From winter 2018 to now, 8 temporary positions (“borse di ricerca”) have been opened for students, 3 of which started in December 2018, whereas 5 have started in November 2019.

Students are taking part of a rich program of training activities as, for example, programming courses with Python to develop the software interface between mobile stations and the cloud. They start to use and manage the hardware part of the stations, as the Raspberry core, and all the instruments and techniques useful to rich the goal of the program.

Since 2018, trainee students and researchers are involved in a specific training program for high school students with events and meetings in high schools. The aim of the initiative is to introduce young students to Cagliari2020 project with a focus on the technologies used by INFN to realize the mobile stations.
