The deliverables

The CAGLIARI 2020 Project aims to achieve:

  • A system for modeling mobility flows of citizens by monitoring the position data of personal mobile devices (in an absolutely anonymous manner). This system will contribute to a significant improvement of the tailoring of the public transport offer which can be more concentrated where (both for time and space) there is more request
  • A sensor-based monitoring network hosted on local public transport (TPL) vehicles. This network, by insisting on routes with greater anthropic load, allows real-time monitoring of the most sensitive areas from the point of view the environment
  • A model for the integration of environmental and mobility data with the purpose of assessing the levels of energy and environmental sustainability and the planning of targeted interventions for the containment of both atmospheric and acoustic pollutants
  • The development of tools to support the decisions of the PA involved in the Project, which facilitate the identification of the most appropriate actions for the implementation of effective mobility policies.
  • A scalable end-to-end solution that can be re-proposed on a national and international scale. The success of the project will have a positive impact on the local economy as it will foster the development of new skills and new entrepreneurial realities in the field of smart mobility and smart planning of urban developments.

In quantitative terms, CAGLIARI 2020 will provide:

  • Modeling of mobility flows on two distinct corridors
  • Equipment of (approximately) 10 buses / trolleybuses with sensors for detecting environmental parameters such as CO2, fine dust and metals
  • An integrated model of comparative evaluation of mobility and environmental data
  • Two distinct decision support systems oriented to the analysis of critical situations on the network
